THE IDEAL MATCH FOR OUR STUDIO:

We're searching for a vibrant General Manager to lead our team to enhance the member experience, boost overall membership base, onboard and train our staff, schedule staff, and cultivate relations within the community. This individual thrives interfacing with members in the community and has extensive experience building, retaining, and maintaining loyal client relationships.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

The General Manager will oversee all studio functionality from sales to instructors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Sales Leadership & Team Development
    Lead and manage the full sales process with structure, consistency, and accountability. Train, coach, and supervise the front desk team on an ongoing, daily basis to effectively sell memberships, improve conversion, and continuously optimize the sales experience. Motivate and inspire the team through contests, incentives, and a positive, high-energy culture.
  • Member Retention & Community Engagement
    Drive member retention through consistent relationship-building and engagement strategies. Proactively recognize member milestones and create a strong sense of community through regular touchpoints, appreciation initiatives, and in-studio events.
  • Grassroots Marketing & Local Lead Generation
    Plan, coordinate, and successfully execute grassroots marketing activities and community events that generate organic leads for the studio. Build and maintain local partnerships that support ongoing brand awareness and lead flow. (target: four activities/events/partnerships per month)
  • Marketing & Social Media Oversight
    Oversee and drive studio-level marketing efforts, including social media execution. While corporate provides content resources and local content creation may be delegated, this role is responsible for ensuring consistent posting, engagement, and follow-through.
  • Operational Oversight & Compliance
    Manage essential studio operations (approximately 15% of the role), with a strong attention to detail. Ensure compliance with all policies and legal requirements, including proper handling of membership agreements and cancellation requests.
  • Schedule Flexibility & Studio Coverage
    Maintain flexibility to meet the needs of the studio. Weekend availability will be required initially—and potentially ongoing—to support intro classes, drive conversions, and plan and execute grassroots initiatives.
  • Availability & Proximity to Studio
    Be accessible and responsive in the event of emergencies or urgent studio needs (which may occur early mornings). Candidates should live within approximately a 10–15 minute commute of the studio to ensure timely support when needed.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of retail/service sales or fitness sales experience
  • Strong social media skills including Facebook, Instagram, etc
  • Brand Ambassador work, grassroots marketing experience, digital marketing, and community events are a plus
  • Confident in generating personal sales and training Sales Reps in sales
  • Ability to manage and drive 4 revenue streams: memberships, retail, private training, and teacher training
  • Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone and via email
  • Ability to excel in a fast changing, diverse environment.
  • Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgement.
  • An affinity and passion for fitness.
  • Solid writing and grammar skills.
  • Highly organized, proficient in data management, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Professional, punctual, reliable and neat.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public.
